bulk upload of images or assets

Bert Leunis
Hi all,

My client wants to upload a bulk of images or assets, for example by zip file. Is there any way to do that in Hippo?

With kind regards/Met vriendelijke groet,
Bert Leunis

The only way I can think of is with an importer app. For a one time important of only images and/or assets I would just write a simple runner.

Hi Bert,

not as far as I know. You can do this:

1) with a custom plugin
2) I should pick up the webdav project again which allows you to do
this, but is not 7.7 or 7.8 compatible yet.

Re: bulk upload of images or assets

The current forge importer app can certainly handle images and assets, but I wouldn't use it for a one time import. For repeated bulk imports it should work.

Re: bulk upload of images or assets

Aharpour
Hi Bert

Sorry for my Late reply, I hope it is not too late
You can also use "Hippo prototype". You just need to run the following class

It requires a command line argument pointing to a folder or a zip file and import its content into hippo. It also separates assets from binaries and put them into their respective locations. you can change configuration of the importer via -Dimportconfig=path/to/you/config/file.properties

content of your config file should look like

repo.username=admin
repo.password=admin
image.set.type=hippogallery:imageset
import.folder=

import.folder property is the relative path to where, it puts the content (for example if you set it to import then your content ends up in a folder called import under the images or assets section or both)

If you need something more advance than a command line tool, please let me now. Because this particular sup-project of Hippo prototype is called "Plugin support" and it is like a Lego tool box. Design to help set-up a import or sync tool for content and binaries in matter of hours.

Best regards
Ebrahim Aharpour
