how to build a front end site...

Fabiano Izzo
Hi all,
I'm trying to establish a communication between the quickstart project's repository ( hippo-ecm-quickstart-war-2.03.00 ) and the front end application built following the guide lines in the "start a project" section (http://docs.onehippo.org/site-toolkit/delve_into/howto/start_project.html - myproject-site-1.01.00.war).
I'm trying to reproduce the same repository structure presents in the repository that comes out from "start a project section", and to be more precise, the hst:configuration node and child nodes whit respective types.
I'm trying to add node types from the cms but I cannot reproduce the exactly same structure (ex: I cannot create the child nodes of a node type from the cms) and in addition I cannot modify  or add  node type from the console (because it is a protected part).
So, what is the best way to establish this communication?
Do I really need the hst:configuration node and structure?
How can I find little tips about building the front end site going a bit more in dept?

Thanks in advance,

Fabiano.

Hi Fabiano,

what exactly are you unable to do? What do you exactly mean with:

I cannot modify  or add  node type from the console (because it is a protected part).
Since the hippo-ecm-quickstart-war-2.03.00 war contains different content, the site war will probably not work, with the different content.
To be able to use the HST2 components you will have to have the hst:configuration node structure in your repository. You might want to unzip the website war though, so you can change the code inside and  adopt it to the content structure of the quickstart-war.

Regards,

Jeroen
